New Veterinary Surgical Unit at Humane Society of Greater Akron

The new surgical unit at the Pawsibilities, Humane Society of Greater Akron, has improved the care of animals at the shelter.

Better care means quicker adoptions.

The three month project was entirely donor-funded. A special contribution towards the veterinary surgical instruments was donated by Spectrum Surgical.

The addition of the surgical suite and in-house veterinarian means that people who adopt from the Humane Society will no longer have to wait for an animal to be medically  tended to before it goes home.

Dr. Michael Wilson provides medical and dental care for 252 animals at the shelter.

Visitors can watch surgeons in action through an overhead viewing window, which was a special request by Rick Schultz himself.
